How to Find Blog Topic Ideas in Semrush

SEO

If you’re new to Semrush, finding blog content ideas for SEO blogs is very, very easy. All you need to do is type in a keyword and look at the questions people are already searching for.

Below is exactly how to do it in Semrush.

How to Find Blog Topics

Step 1: Open the Keyword Magic Tool

In SEMrush, click on SEO in the left-hand menu and then select Keyword Magic Tool.

Step 2: Enter Your Keyword and Region

Enter a keyword and choose your target region (optional).

For this example, I’m going to search for Volkswagen.

Once entered, click Search.

Step 3: View Keyword Results

You’ll now see a large list of keywords related to Volkswagen. At this stage, don’t worry about all of them just yet.

Step 4: Click on Questions

Near the top left, click on Questions.

This will filter the results to show questions people are actively searching for, which are perfect for blog content ideas.

Step 5: Understand the Filters

Here you’ll see several useful columns:

  • Volume – how many people have searched for this keyword in recent months

  • Keyword Difficulty (%) – how difficult it is to rank high on Google for that keyword

  • CPC – mainly related to paid ads rather than blog content

  • SERP Features – shows whether search results include things like sitelinks, AI overviews, images, or videos

  • Updated – shows how recently the keyword data was updated (you can click refresh to update this)

These filters help you decide which topics are worth writing about and which ones you can realistically rank for.

Conclusion

Finding blog topics in SEMrush is very easy, you just need to know where to find them.
